Succession planning

Succession planning

Financial assessment and family asset valuation

Preparation of a complete inventory of key assets, analysis of the asset structure, the company’s financial position and its dependence on the owner. Identification of key individuals in the company and a summary of the initial expectations of the owners and their heirs. Valuation of businesses and key assets as a starting point for succession planning.

Modelling succession
scenarios

Comparison of the financial implications of different scenarios, such as transferring the business to one or more successors, alternative allocations of ownership interests, buying out some co-owners or selling the business. For each scenario, we analyse the impact on business value, liquidity, debt, ownership control and the ability to achieve a financial settlement among family members.

Succession financing and implementation plan

We develop a financial plan to support implementation of the selected succession scenario. We analyse how to finance payouts or the purchase of ownership interests, what funds will be available within the company and the family, and how individual solutions may affect liquidity and the business’s continued operation. We prepare a schedule of actions and cash flows and identify points at which the assumptions need to be reassessed.
